Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our healthcare team. This vital role supports the pharmacy operations within a hospital or clinical setting, ensuring the safe and efficient dispensing of medications, adherence to regulatory standards, and exceptional patient service. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive pharmacy technician experience, including sterile and non-sterile compounding, medication preparation, and compliance with all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws. Duties
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately in accordance with prescriptions, including sterile IV admixture procedures and aseptic techniques.
- Assist pharmacists with medication management, inventory control, and drug regulation compliance.
- Perform IV infusion preparation and compounding for critical care patients following strict sterile procedures.
- Ensure all pharmacy activities comply with state healthcare regulations, drug regulation policies, and pharmaceutical regulatory standards.
- Provide exceptional patient service by answering medication-related questions and supporting medication administration processes.
- Maintain detailed documentation of medication intake, preparation procedures, and inventory records to ensure traceability.
- Support hospital staff with medical terminology clarification and medication information to facilitate optimal patient care.
- Adhere to basic life support protocols in emergency situations involving medication administration or adverse reactions.
- Participate in ongoing training related to acute care experience, sterile compounding techniques, and pharmacy law updates.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize medication therapy management for diverse patient populations.
Experience
- Prior LTC (Long-Term Care) pharmacy experience is preferred, with a strong background in hospital or clinical pharmacy settings.
- Demonstrated critical care experience involving complex medication regimens for acutely ill patients.
- Proven clinical pharmacy experience with a focus on IV infusion therapy and aseptic technique.
- Valid certification as a pharmacy technician (CPhT) from an accredited organization.
- Familiarity with state healthcare regulations, drug regulation policies, and federal pharmacy laws governing medication handling.
- Experience working within hospital environments or acute care units is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to pharmacology, patient care procedures, and medication administration protocols.
- Ability to operate pharmacy automation systems efficiently while maintaining accuracy in all tasks.
- Strong organizational skills complemented by attention to detail necessary for sterile compounding and inventory management.

Pay: $30.00 - $34.00 per hour
