JY Hospitality Group is a growing Dallas-based hospitality company with multiple restaurant concepts and a food warehouse/commissary operation. We are looking for a hands-on Controller / Accounting Manager to be a key member of the management team and lead accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls across the company.
This role is ideal for someone who understands restaurant accounting, can produce timely financials, and can work closely with ownership and operations to improve profitability.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day accounting across multiple entities and locations.
- Own the monthly close process and prepare accurate financial statements.
- Prepare weekly and monthly P&Ls by location.
- Reconcile POS sales, bank deposits, credit cards, payroll, and vendor payments.
- Oversee accounts payable, invoice coding, approvals, and vendor reconciliations.
- Track inventory, COGS, food cost, labor cost, and other key restaurant metrics.
- Support warehouse/commissary transfers and intercompany accounting.
- Maintain fixed asset and construction cost tracking.
- Ensure sales tax, payroll tax, 1099s, and other compliance items are handled on time.
- Work with outside CPA on tax planning, year-end close, and financial reporting.
- Help improve accounting systems, reporting processes, and internal controls.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of accounting experience.
- Experience as a Controller, Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, or strong Senior Bookkeeper.
- Restaurant, hospitality, food service, retail, or multi-location experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger, AP, payroll, reconciliations, accruals, and month-end close.
- Experience with QuickBooks, Restaurant365, MarginEdge, Ramp, Toast, or similar systems is a plus.
- Strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
- CPA or CMA preferred, but not required.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to meet deadlines.
Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone practical, accurate, and hands-on. This person should be comfortable building processes, cleaning up books, working closely with operations, and explaining financial results clearly to ownership. The ideal candidate will also be a financial leader who can think outside the box, identify opportunities for improvement, and help guide the company through planning, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
