The Food Service Assistant performs a variety of food service operations to include food preparation, serving, cashiering at elementary, middle, or high school sites. ; Maintains facility in a sanitary condition and adheres to health department codes. ; Currently PART-TIME positions only. ;Part-time status ranges from 3 - 5 ;hours daily (Position requires no nights, weekends or holidays)
The salary range is $18.68 - $24.85 hourly

Physical Demands:
Majority of the work is performed by standing or walking. ; The work requires using hands for simple grasping, pushing and pulling. ; The work at times requires bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching with the ability to lift, carry, push or pull heavy weighted items. ; Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds. The work requires activities involving exposure to changes in temperature and humidity.

Assists in cleaning up the kitchen and cafeteria

Assists with putting away delivered stock using the first in first out method of rotation

Operates a computer software program for meal counts

Maintains accurate counts of meals and supplies

Attends training seminars and staff development opportunities
