Overview: *This position will be in McCook, IL*
We are seeking a detail-oriented Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with hand and power tools, along with basic skills in grinding, cutting, and brazing. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to perform general maintenance tasks, including basic electrical wiring, pipe fitting, and small motor repairs. The successful candidate will be a reliable problem solver with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and maintaining efficient operations.
Responsibilities:

Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problems; using measuring and testing instruments.

Remove defective parts by dismantling devices, using hand and power tools.

Unload hazardous materials to storage vessels.

Control downtime by informing production workers of routine preventive maintenance techniques; monitoring compliance.

Maintain equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory level, anticipating needed equipment, parts, and supplies.

Conserve maintenance resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.

Provide mechanical maintenance information by answering questions and requests.

Prepare mechanical maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information.

Maintain continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.

Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.

Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Proven experience in industrial maintenance, including basic wiring, pipe fitting, and small motor repair.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting techniques.

Must be proficient with hand and power tools.

Must have basic grinding, cutting, and brazing skills.

Must be familiar with hot work permitting and lockout tagout.

Ability to read and understand schematics and technical drawings.

Proficient in English, both written and verbal communication skills.

Skills in welding and fabrication are a plus.
