- Responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining customer vehicles with the highest level of skill and accuracy. This role supports the dealership’s service department by performing complex mechanical and electrical repairs, ensuring quality workmanship, and providing a safe, reliable vehicle to the customer.
- Performs work as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards.
- Performs Multi-Point Inspections and reports findings.
- Diagnose vehicle issues using advanced diagnostic tools and OEM systems.

Perform complex repairs including engine, transmission, drivetrain, electrical, fuel, HVAC, steering, and suspension systems.

Conduct in-depth troubleshooting for mechanical and electronic systems.

Complete manufacturer-recommended maintenance and repair procedures.

Perform recall and warranty repairs according to OEM guidelines.

Road-test vehicles to ensure repairs are completed accurately.

Maintain detailed documentation of all repairs and diagnostics on repair orders.

Communicate repair needs, time estimates, and findings to service advisors.

Stay current with OEM training, technical bulletins, and certifications.

Mentor Lube Technicians or Apprentices as needed.

Ensure all work meets dealership, manufacturer, safety and quality standards.

Inspects vehicle fluid levels, replaces, or replenishes as necessary.
- Checks tire pressure and adds air if needed.
- Lubricates moving parts with specified lubricants.
- Communicates with parts department to obtain needed parts.
- Support technicians on more complex repairs as needed.

Reports machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
- Properly document all work performed and maintain accurate service records.

Participates in manufacturer-sponsored training programs as assigned by service manager.
- Keeps abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
- Ensures that customers' cars are kept clean. Notifies service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area, including tools and equipment.
- Maintains and is accountable for all dealership-owned tools and manuals. Returns them to the proper place and in the same condition as when they were received.
- Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know etc.
- Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
- Reports any safety issues immediately to management.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Three years or more of professional automotive technician experience (dealership experience preferred)
OEM-specific training or certifications strongly preferred (ie: ASE, Master Tech, brand-certified
- Advanced knowledge of automotive mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proficiency with diagnostic equipment, scan tools, and service software.
