American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a 13-week night shift travel assignment in a Med/Surg Oncology unit, with BMT or chemotherapy experience strongly preferred.

Acute care hospital setting on a 24-bed Med/Surg Oncology unit
-
Patient population includes BMT, oncology, GYN oncology surgeries, hospice, and general med/surg patients
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3-4; CNAs available at a 1:8 ratio

A dedicated charge nurse is present each shift and does not take a patient assignment
-
Telemetry monitoring in place; must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to life-threatening rhythms

Common drips include pain medication drips and PCAs
-
RT equipment used includes CPAP and High Flow
-
EMR: Epic
-
12-hour night shifts, 7p-7a
-
Weekend coverage required to fill staffing needs

Travelers are first to float to similar med/surg units, including sister campuses in Meridian and Nampa
-
No on-call or standby requirement
-
Active Idaho (ID) or Compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted

BSN required
-
Current BLS certification required; active certifications must be in hand (pending not accepted)

Minimum 2 years of general med/surg RN experience required; 1 year of oncology-specific experience accepted in lieu

BMT or chemotherapy administration experience strongly preferred; chemo certification required to administer chemotherapy

Epic EMR experience

Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Valid driver's license required

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates will not be considered

Former permanent employees must have been separated for at least one year before being eligible for a travel assignment

Orientation includes 2 days on the unit with a dedicated preceptor

Holiday rotation participation is required
-
No blocked scheduling or special scheduling requests will be accepted; schedule is managed at the management level, though night shift blocks are attempted when possible

The unit places a strong emphasis on teamwork and collaborative culture
-
Scrubs of any color are acceptable; hoods are not permitted
