HVAC Technician – Energy Saving Assistance Program (ESAP)
Inter-City Energy Systems Inc. is a residential HVAC contractor and approved third-party contractor representing the Energy Saving Assistance Program (ESAP). ESAP is a utility-sponsored, income-qualified weatherization program designed to help eligible customers improve their home's energy efficiency and comfort.
Position Summary
The HVAC Technician serves as a field representative of the Energy Saving Assistance Program and is responsible for evaluating, repairing, and installing eligible HVAC and energy-efficiency measures in qualified customers' homes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform in-home assessments of existing heating, cooling, and water heating systems.
- Determine whether equipment can be repaired or requires replacement based on program guidelines and safety standards.
- Install and replace residential heating systems, heat pump systems, and water heaters.
- Deliver and install approved energy-efficiency measures for qualified customers.
- Ensure all installations comply with manufacturer specifications, local building codes, and program requirements.
- Complete required documentation, inspections, and reports accurately and timely.
- Educate customers on the proper operation and maintenance of installed equipment.
- Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with customers while representing Inter-City Energy Systems Inc. and the ESAP program.
- Follow all company safety policies and procedures and maintain a safe work environment.
Qualifications
- Experience in residential HVAC installation and service.
- Knowledge of heating systems, heat pumps, and water heaters.
- Ability to diagnose equipment issues and determine appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- EPA Certification preferred.
- Ability to lift, carry, and move equipment and materials as required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to work in attics, crawl spaces, rooftops, and other confined areas.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform physical labor throughout the workday.
Pay: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour
