Account Manager – Precision Manufacturing & Machining
Position Summary
The Account Manager is responsible for supporting and growing customer relationships while serving as a primary point of contact between customers and the company. This individual will manage customer communications, support quoting and order execution activities, track customer interactions within the CRM system, and help evaluate incoming opportunities for fit within the company’s manufacturing capabilities.
The ideal candidate is professional, responsive, organized, and capable of operating in a fast-paced precision machining and fabrication environment. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to coordinate effectively with customers, sales, estimating, production, and quality personnel.
This position reports to the Sales Manager.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Customer Relationship Management
- Support and grow customer relationships through consistent communication and follow-up
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned customer accounts
- Respond quickly and professionally to customer inquiries via phone, email, and in person
- Maintain regular customer touchpoints and document interactions within HubSpot CRM
- Support customer retention and identify opportunities for account growth
Sales & Opportunity Coordination
- Review customer RFQs, drawings, specifications, and requirements
- Evaluate incoming opportunities for compatibility with company manufacturing capabilities
- Coordinate with estimating, production, quality, and scheduling teams as needed
- Assist with quote follow-up and order management activities
- Communicate lead times, delivery updates, and customer requirements internally
Production & Order Execution Support
- Maintain regular communication with production personnel regarding customer priorities and order status
- Help ensure new customer jobs are executed properly, meet customer requirements, and ship on time
- Assist in identifying and communicating risks related to delivery, quality, or manufacturing capability
- Support resolution of customer concerns related to quality, delivery, or communication
- Help facilitate smooth transition of new work from quote through production and shipment
Administrative & Internal Responsibilities
- Maintain organized and accurate customer records
- Execute duties and special assignments as directed by the Sales Manager
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to customer service, communication, and operational efficiency
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Professional demeanor in customer-facing situations
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ERP, and CRM systems
- Ability to interpret customer drawings, specifications, and manufacturing requirements
- Experience in precision machining and fabrication is a plus
- Manufacturing, industrial, or technical sales experience preferred
Pay: $70,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
