Description
The UCLA OB/GYN Title X Program is seeking a dynamic, engaging, and motivated Health Educator to support reproductive health education and community outreach efforts. This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about advancing reproductive and sexual health, enjoys connecting with communities, and is comfortable discussing sensitive topics in a professional and nonjudgmental manner.
Working closely with the Program Manager, the Health Educator will provide reproductive health education and contraceptive counseling to patients in the OB/GYN clinic, develop and maintain partnerships with community organizations, participate in outreach events, and deliver educational presentations to community groups. The Health Educator will also assist with reviewing and updating educational materials to ensure they are evidence-based, culturally responsive, and aligned with program goals.
The ideal candidate is an excellent communicator with strong public speaking and interpersonal skills who is confident presenting to groups of varying sizes and engaging individuals from all backgrounds. Experience in sexual and reproductive health education, family planning, or community health is strongly preferred
Hourly salary range: 27.73 - 52.35
This is a limited, part-time appointment that may convert to career.
Qualifications
Knowledge in reproductive health and/or prevention education Required
Ability to work independently with little supervision Required
Excellent written and verbal communication skills Required
Working knowledge of PC software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Required
Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with individuals in the community, other professionals, and health center staff. Required
Ability to present educational information on sensitive topics in a professional and nonjudgmental manner. Required
Available occasional nights and weekends for events, as needed. Required
Ability to secure reliable form of transportation. Required
Previous experience in sexual and reproductive health education, family planning, community health, or related field. Preferred
Previous experience delivering educational presentations or facilitating group education sessions. Preferred
