Lawrenceburg Power LLC is seeking a skilled Combined Cycle Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Technician to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of a 1,200 MW 4×2 combined cycle power plant. This role requires strong technical knowledge across plant operations, mechanical, electrical, instrumentation and controls, and environmental systems.
The O&M Technician will make sound operating decisions in accordance with plant procedures, safety standards, and environmental regulations, while supporting continuous plant reliability and performance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operations & Control Room

Start up, operate, monitor, and shut down combined cycle equipment including gas turbines, steam turbines, HRSGs, generators, condensers, pumps, transformers, switchyard, and auxiliary systems

Monitor field instrumentation, alarms, trends, and operating data; take corrective action for abnormal conditions

Operate valves, pumps, breakers, electrical disconnects, and plant controls locally and remotely

Maintain accurate electronic logs, rounds, and operational documentation
Mechanical, Electrical & I&C Maintenance

Perform inspections, troubleshooting, repairs, calibrations, and adjustments on mechanical, electrical, electronic, and instrumentation systems

Use electrical schematics, control diagrams, and P&IDs to diagnose and resolve equipment issues

Conduct preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities

Repair valves, actuators, piping, pumps, and other rotating or auxiliary equipment
Chemistry & Environmental Compliance
-
Maintain boiler water, plant cycle chemistry, and environmental systems

Operate and maintain the Water Treatment Plant
-
Conduct chemical sampling, testing, analysis, and QA/QC verification

Operate, monitor, and calibrate environmental equipment including CEMS and gas detection systems
Work Management & Data Analysis

Utilize the CMMS to create, update, and close work orders, PMs, material requests, and time entries

Use plant data systems (e.g., PI) to analyze trends, performance, and reliability

Support documentation, compliance reporting, and inspections
Safety & Compliance
-
Follow all site safety policies, JSAs, JHAs, SDSs, and environmental procedures

Isolate equipment and perform energy control in accordance with LOTO and Clearance Permit procedures

Obtain hot work, confined space, and equipment clearance permits

Participate in safety meetings, job briefings, and training programs

Identify, report, and correct unsafe acts, conditions, or near misses
Other Duties

Respond to operational and maintenance events during assigned shifts

Work collaboratively with supervisors, technicians, contractors, and plant staff

Perform additional duties as assigned to support plant operations

High School Diploma or GED
-
5+ years of experience in a combined cycle power plant or similar power generation environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of gas turbines, HRSGs, steam turbines, balance-of-plant systems, and power block operations
- Working knowledge of electrical, instrumentation, controls, and mechanical systems
- Experience with plant chemistry, environmental monitoring, and water treatment
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and P&IDs
- Familiarity with CMMS and plant data trending systems
Physical Requirements

Exposure to varied outdoor environments, including extreme weather conditions, high noise levels, hazardous areas, and diverse work surfaces.

Frequent use of personal protective equipment (PPE), such as hard hats, safety glasses, respirators, ear protection, chemical suits, hot gloves, and high-voltage protective gear.

Working near high-voltage equipment and operating heavy machinery, with proper training and safety protocols.
-
Entry into confined spaces and potentially hazardous environments, often accompanied by exposure to loud machinery and equipment.

Physical activities including walking, standing for extended periods, crawling, stooping, sitting, climbing vertical and inclined ladders/stairs, operating large valves, and performing tasks requiring up to 50 lbs. of pulling, turning, lifting, or carrying.

Exposure to extreme heat and cold.

Participation in a post-offer physical examination and drug screening, as well as ongoing random drug testing.

Compliance with strict smoking restrictions in and around the facility.
Applicants must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record, as this position requires occasional travel for company business. Candidates should be comfortable operating a vehicle as part of their job responsibilities and must meet any applicable company and insurance requirements.
