Who We Are
Final Frontier Manufacturing makes precision hard-metal parts for the companies putting rockets and satellites into orbit. We're a small, engineering-led shop in Arvada building for aerospace and defense — AS9100D certified, ITAR registered — where parts are flight-critical and there's no such thing as "close enough." We run lean, we run modern, and we trust the people at the machines to be the experts on them.
The Role
We're looking for an experienced 5-axis machinist to own setups end to end — work-holding, prove-out, and standing behind the first part before it reaches inspection. You'll have real autonomy at the machine, with programming and quality support when you need it. This is precision work on high-value parts, not high-volume production — the priority is getting it right.
What You'll Do
- Own complex 5-axis setups (simultaneous and 3+2) from raw stock to verified first article.
- Make adjustments at the control — offsets, wear comp, program tweaks — with programming there to back you up, not to bottleneck you.
- Self-inspect thoroughly so the first piece of every run is in tolerance and genuinely "ready for First Article" before it reaches the lab.
- Hold tight GD&T on demanding parts, managing tool wear and process drift across the run.
- Work with programming and quality to close the loop between CAM intent and the finished part — your feedback makes the next job better.
What You Bring
- 3+ years in 5-axis milling (simultaneous and 3+2).
- Solid comfort at the control — Fanuc, Okuma OSP, or Siemens experience all welcome. Direct time on DN Solutions/Puma or Okuma is a plus, not a requirement.
- Expert hands with precision measuring tools (micrometers, height and bore gauges, indicators).
- Fluent reading of complex GD&T and drawings.
- A "right the first time" mindset — you'd rather catch it at the machine than explain it at the lab.
Why Here
- Real ownership. We hire experienced people and let them run their machines.
- Modern, clean, climate-controlled shop with top-tier equipment — but the real draw is the work: hard parts, real stakes, and a team that cares about getting it right.
- You'll see your parts fly. Not many machinists can say that.
- A small shop where good work gets noticed, not lost in a crowd.
