Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our healthcare team in a full-time or part-time capacity. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including vital signs, physical examinations, and medical history documentation using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or Cerner.
- Administer medications and injections accurately following prescribed protocols, including IV infusions, immunizations, and botulinum toxin treatments.
- Perform specialized procedures such as suturing, catheterization, tube feeding management, and sterile technique applications.
- Monitor patients’ conditions closely in various settings such as ICU, emergency room, surgical units, or long-term care facilities; manage acute pain and provide trauma or emergency medicine interventions as needed.
- Coordinate patient care plans through case management strategies while ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and documentation standards.
- Assist with diagnostic evaluations including laboratory specimen collection/processing and interpreting diagnostic results like ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10).
- Educate patients and families on health coaching topics such as geriatrics, dementia care, hospice & palliative medicine, or chronic disease management.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams across specialties including cardiology (cardiac catheterization), ophthalmology (ocular treatments), nephrology (dialysis), behavioral health, and infectious disease care.
- Maintain sterile processing standards during procedures like sonography or mammography when applicable.
- Support discharge planning and post-acute care transitions to ensure continuity of care in outpatient or home & community settings.
Requirements
- Valid RN license in the applicable state with current CPR/BLS certification.
- Proven experience working in diverse clinical environments such as hospital medicine, ICU (Level I & II Trauma Center experience), emergency medicine, or outpatient clinics.
- Proficiency with EMR/EHR systems including Epic, Cerner, Athenahealth or eClinicalWorks for accurate medical documentation.
- Strong knowledge of physiology, anatomy, pharmacology related to medication administration and patient assessment techniques.
- Experience performing invasive procedures like venipuncture, IV insertion/infusion therapy, sterile suturing and catheter care.
- Familiarity with infection control practices and aseptic technique standards across various clinical settings.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals of all ages including pediatrics (neonatal ventilator), adults in geriatrics or memory care units, and patients with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs.
- Excellent communication skills for triage assessments and patient education; capable of working under pressure in urgent care or trauma situations.
