We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Scribe to support our provider team in a fast-paced wound care environment. This role is responsible for real-time clinical documentation, ensuring accurate and timely medical records while allowing providers to focus on patient care.
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide real-time documentation support during patient visits
- Accurately document patient history, physical exam findings, wound assessments and measurements, treatment plans, and provider orders
- Maintain pace with clinic flow and document encounters in the order received
- Transcribe field provider reports into complete and accurate clinical notes
- Follow up with providers to clarify information as needed to ensure documentation accuracy
- Ensure all clinical documentation meets required standards and is completed within designated timeframes
- Track outstanding documentation items and communicate updates to the Director of Clinical Operations
- Maintain strict patient confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations
- Support additional office-based administrative tasks as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; coursework in a health-related field preferred
- Strong written communication and active listening skills
- Ability to type accurately at a minimum of 40–50 WPM
- Proficient in computer systems and communication platforms
- Highly organized, professional, and self-motivated
- Comfortable working with medical terminology, including detailed wound descriptions
- Prior experience as a medical scribe or in a clinical documentation role preferred
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems preferred
