Job Overview
We are seeking skilled and dedicated Welders specializing in MIG and TIG welding to join a reputable manufacturer in Eaton Rapids, MI. This role involves fabricating, assembling, and repairing metal components with precision and adherence to safety standards. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience on construction sites, demonstrate mechanical aptitude, and have a strong understanding of blueprint reading and schematics.
Hours:
Mon-Fri, 6am-2:30pm + some overtime when needed
Responsibilities:
- Perform MIG and TIG welding on various metals, including sheet metal, ductwork, and piping, following detailed blueprints and schematics.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and welding symbols to ensure accurate fabrication.
- Use hand tools, power tools, plasma cutters, press brake machines, and other fabrication equipment to shape and assemble components.
- Conduct quality inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring tools to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, fitting, and rigging components prior to welding.
- Maintain a clean work environment by adhering to safety protocols related to welding hazards, crane operation, forklift handling, and mechanical safety.
- Collaborate with team members on assembly tasks involving mechanical knowledge such as pipe threading and soldering.
- Support fabrication projects by utilizing schematics for assembly processes while adhering to ASME standards.
- Assist in the setup of welding equipment ensuring proper calibration for consistent results.
- Participate in routine maintenance of tools and machinery used in welding operations. Experience:
- Proven experience working on construction sites or manufacturing facilities with a focus on structural or pipe welding.
- Extensive knowledge of MIG welding techniques; proficiency in TIG welding is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding) processes preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately.
- Experience with power tools such as press brakes, plasma cutters, grinders, drills, and saws.
- Mechanical aptitude with basic math skills for measurements and calculations related to fabrication tasks.
- Knowledge of ASME codes & standards relevant to welding practices.
- Hands-on experience with rigging, pipe threading, machining, soldering, ductwork fabrication, and assembly processes.
- Ability to operate forklifts safely when required for material handling.
Requirements:
- HS diploma/GED
- Minimum 5 years related experience
- Basic math skills
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Must own welding helmet
- Successful completion of an internal welding test in horizontal position
Pay: From $21.00 per hour
