Job Overview
Western Paving Inc. is looking for an experienced Concrete Finisher to join our team. This position is ideal for a reliable finisher with at least two years of concrete experience who is comfortable working on roadway, commercial, municipal, and infrastructure projects.
The right candidate will have experience placing and finishing concrete, working with an active concrete crew, and maintaining a safe and productive job site. Experience with rapid-set or volumetric concrete is helpful but not required.
Pay
$20–$35 per hour, depending on experience.
Responsibilities
- Place, spread, screed, level, and finish freshly poured concrete
- Use floats, trowels, edgers, brooms, and other concrete finishing tools
- Finish slabs, sidewalks, curb and gutter, roadway repairs, patches, and manhole collars
- Install and remove concrete forms as needed
- Create control joints, edges, slopes, and specified surface finishes
- Identify and correct surface imperfections before concrete sets
- Work closely with equipment operators, drivers, supervisors, and other crew members
- Maintain concrete tools and equipment
- Follow company safety procedures and job-site requirements
- Assist with general job-site needs when required
Requirements
- Minimum two years of concrete finishing experience
- Experience using concrete finishing hand tools and power tools
- Understanding of concrete placement, finishing techniques, grades, slopes, and curing
- Ability to work around active construction and roadway job sites
- Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting, bending, kneeling, and working on your feet
- Willingness to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
- Strong communication, reliability, and attention to detail
- Ability to follow safety procedures and company policies
- Reliable transportation to work and job sites
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with roadway, municipal, commercial, or heavy civil concrete projects
- Experience finishing curb and gutter, sidewalks, slabs, roadway patches, or manhole collars
- Experience with rapid-set concrete or volumetric concrete trucks
- Form-setting or rebar experience
- Experience operating skid steers, compactors, saws, or other construction equipment
- Valid driver’s license or CDL
Schedule
- Full-time
- Approximately 40–50 hours per week
- Overtime may be available
- Early mornings, nights, or occasional weekends may be required depending on project schedules
Work Location: In person at job sites throughout Utah
