Job Summary
The General X-Ray Machine Operator (GXMO) is responsible for obtaining high-quality diagnostic X-rays while ensuring patient comfort, safety, and compliance with Ohio radiation safety regulations. This position works closely with the chiropractor and clinical staff to support efficient patient care and a positive patient experience.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic X-rays as directed by the chiropractor.
- Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures.
- Operate digital X-ray equipment safely and accurately.
- Follow all Ohio radiation safety regulations and ALARA principles.
- Verify patient information and maintain accurate imaging records.
- Upload and document images within the electronic health record.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the X-ray room and equipment.
- Perform routine equipment quality checks and report maintenance concerns.
- Assist with patient flow and other clinical duties as assigned.
- Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
Required:
- Current Ohio General X-Ray Machine Operator (GXMO) license in good standing.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Preferred:
- Previous chiropractic or outpatient imaging experience.
- Experience with digital radiography systems.
- CPR certification.
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR).
