Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our PM maintenance team. This position is primarily responsible for the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and preventative maintenance of our fleet of lowbed trucks, trailers, super dump trucks, and heavy haul equipment. The ideal candidate has strong experience with Class 8 diesel trucks and trailers and is committed to keeping our fleet safe, reliable, and operating at peak performance.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, repair, and perform preventative maintenance on lowbed trucks, lowbed trailers, super dump trucks, and other diesel vehicles.
- Troubleshoot and repair diesel engines, transmissions, drivetrains, suspensions, steering, hydraulic systems, air brake systems, electrical systems, and HVAC components.
- Perform DOT inspections and identify safety concerns before equipment returns to service.
- Repair and maintain trailer components, including brakes, suspensions, lights, electrical systems, landing gear, and hydraulic systems.
- Diagnose electrical issues using OEM software, wiring diagrams, and diagnostic equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, filter replacements, brake service, tire inspections, and preventative maintenance services.
- Complete welding and light fabrication repairs as needed on trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, and repair documentation.
- Work efficiently to minimize equipment downtime and keep our fleet operating safely and reliably.
- Assist with maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment as needed, including excavators, dozers, loaders, and other construction equipment.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a Diesel Mechanic working on lowbeds, super dumps, or heavy haul equipment.
- Dealership or fleet maintenance experience is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, differentials, air brake systems, hydraulics, electrical systems, suspensions, and trailer repair.
- Experience using OEM diagnostic software and electronic diagnostic tools.
- Ability to read service manuals, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
- Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize repairs in a fast-paced shop environment.
- Valid driver's license required; CDL is a plus but not required.

- Some Saturdays are required based on operational needs.
