Job Summary
We are expanding our team and looking for professional drivers who take pride in safety, reliability, and exceptional service. As a part‑time Class A CDL driver, you will operate 53' refrigerated trailers on local and short‑haul routes originating from Bolingbrook, IL. This role is ideal for experienced drivers who want steady, predictable work without the demands of long‑haul schedules.
Duties
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across assigned local or regional routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo integrity and security
- Transport diverse freight types including refrigerated goods,with attention to proper handling procedures
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety, including checking brakes, tires, lights, and load securement
- Plan efficient routes to optimize delivery schedules while maintaining compliance with hours-of-service regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status, delays, or issues encountered on the route
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, deliveries, inspections, and any incidents in compliance with regulatory standards
Experience
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving with a focus on route driving within local or regional areas
- Demonstrated ability to operate trucks safely and efficiently
- Prior delivery driver experience handling freight that requires load & unload procedures
- Familiarity with operating refrigerated and dry van trailers, is highly desirable
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to freight handling and vehicle maintenance
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
- Experience with loading equipment is a plus
