Who we are: We are Zia Water LLLP, headquartered in Midland, TX with operations located in western Lea County, NM. We operate the Marathon Road Water Station which is comprised of a lengthy water pipeline, open reservoir and truck loading facilities supplying the petroleum and construction industries with fresh water on an as-needed basis.
What you will do: The qualified individual will be responsible for learning and administering the custom ESRI mapping program used by Zia Water along with becoming expert in using the industry tracking website Drilling Edge (www.drillingedge.com). The purpose is to successfully identify areas and entities where target industry activities requiring our commodity are planned, then to reach and secure relationships with them which result in mutual benefit. For us, that is our water right being profitably utilized.
A two-faceted approach to enhance your orientation and productivity will include: a weekly call with Zia Water’s CFO to confer and coordinate your work; shadowing the Executive Coordinator for Administration and Operations in our Midland office to learn basic functions of the business’s administration so that useful assistance can be lent when needed. Local travel and to Lea and Eddy Counties in New Mexico will likely become required as the post becomes more established and productive.
Hours (required time): Three days a week in the office, with flexibility around which days are required. Approximately 25 hours per week, with some flex hours occasionally requested during high volume business, which can be unpredictable.
Skills required: Excellent communication skills, friendly attitude, self-motivated, general computer skills (both Microsoft and Apple), and high proficiency using the internet. Bilingual also a plus. You must also use your own smart phone, laptop computer and have reliable transportation. Zia Water provides qualified mileage reimbursement at the prevailing Federal Rate.
Education: High School Diploma, a must. Some college a plus. Active college students are welcome to apply.
Compensation: $25-30 an hour, depending upon experience, as a non-employee 1099 taxed contractor. Bonus opportunities will be available.
