Equipment Operator
Join our construction team as an Equipment Operator. In this position, you will operate a variety of machinery and construction equipment to ensure projects are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards. Our projects range from Southcentral Alaska to remote locations as opportunities arise.
Duties
· Operate heavy construction machinery such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, cranes, and dump trucks to perform earthmoving, grading, lifting, and material handling tasks.
· Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
· Follow all safety procedures and occupational safety regulations while operating machinery and handling materials.
· Load and unload materials using appropriate equipment like forklifts, water trucks, or tanker trucks to support various phases of construction projects.
· Assist with site preparation by managing hydraulics systems and using hand tools for minor repairs or adjustments.
· Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance logs, and safety checks for accountability and compliance purposes.
· Collaborate with team members to coordinate material delivery schedules and ensure smooth workflow on busy construction sites.
Skills
· Proven experience operating construction machinery such as dozers, loaders, excavators, cranes, front loader trucks, dump trucks, water trucks, roll-off trucks, or farm machinery.
· Strong knowledge of hydraulics systems and mechanical maintenance practices for heavy equipment.
· Ability to interpret construction plans and technical manuals related to equipment operation.
· Familiarity with safety procedures including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to occupational safety regulations.
· Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with experience in commercial truck driving; certifications in crane operation are a plus.
· Mechanical aptitude with hands-on skills using hand tools for minor repairs or adjustments on-site.
· Excellent communication skills to coordinate effectively with team members and site supervisors.
