Paramedic, EMS, Nights, 12-hour Shift, Full-Time
Job Summary/Purpose
The Paramedic is a licensed healthcare professional responsible for delivering advanced life support (ALS) to patients in the pre-hospital environment. Working under the direction of KBEMS protocols and medical director, Paramedics assess, treat, and transport patients in a wide range of medical and traumatic emergencies with the highest level of clinical skill, judgment, and professionalism.
Essential Key Job Responsibilities
- Respond rapidly to 911 calls and other emergency/non-emergency incidents.
- Conduct full patient assessments and initiate advanced treatment modalities.
- Perform life-saving procedures such as intubation, defibrillation, medication administration, EKG interpretation, and IV therapy.
- Manage critical care and trauma patients in coordination with EMTs, EMT-As, and other healthcare providers.
- Accurately document all patient care activities in accordance with legal and regulatory standards.
- Maintain communication with medical control and hospital personnel during transport.
- Ensure all equipment, ambulances, and medical supplies are operational and stocked.
- Engage in continuing education, quality assurance, and training activities.
Role Minimum Qualifications
Required Education
- High school diploma or equivalent
Required Licensure and Certifications – At Hire
Active Paramedic license issued through Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services- BLS, ACLS, PALS

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Must be able to read, write, and comprehend medical terminology for the English language.

- Follows oral and written instructions.
Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience in EMS or healthcare setting

Familiarity with electronic patient care reporting (ePCR) systems

Associate’s degree in EMS or related healthcare field
