Duties
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using tools like sit stand lift and gait belt
- Monitor and observe for changes in health status, including vital signs and behavioral cues related to dementia
- Administer medications accurately following medical documentation protocols
- Support clients with medical procedures such as possible catheter care, wound management, and glucose/insulin management
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary restrictions and assist with meal planning and preparation to promote overall health
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and home organization to ensure a safe and comfortable living environment
- Use specialized equipment like sit stand lift or mobility aids safely during transfers and assist with exercises or physical therapy routines when appropriate
- Collaborate with family members and health care team as needed
Skills
- Experience in assisted living, long-term care, or home health environments with a focus on senior care or individuals with disabilities is helpful but will train
- Knowledge of dementia care is also helpful but not required
- Ability to perform patient observation effectively; recognize signs of health deterioration or behavioral changes
- Excellent caregiving skills including assisting with ADLs, medication administration, possible catheter care, and vital signs monitoring
- Physical stamina for activities such as transferring clients, cleaning, laundry, cooking, and general home maintenance
- Respect for privacy of the clients
- Strong communication skills for working collaboratively with healthcare team and family members
- Emphasis on reliable, responsible and trustworthy person(s) in private home setting.
Pay: $12.00 - $17.00 per hour
