KDHE is comprised of three divisions: Public Health, Environment, and Health Care Finance (which includes the State’s Medicaid program, KanCare). We are the only agency in the nation to have these three entities under one roof which allows us to take a holistic approach to improving and protecting the health and well-being of all Kansans.

Position Summary & Responsibilities
Position Summary:
The position (K0247559)
Serve as a centralized resource and point of contact for stakeholder groups, including but not limited to professional associations, foundations, non-profits, and government entities and agencies. Build and maintain partnerships and actively engage stakeholders, including identifying strategies and opportunities to connect target stakeholders around various short- and long-term issues. Provide Medicaid staff guidance on key stakeholder groups and how to interact with them. Track and follow up consumer/provider complaints in conjunction with the Managed Care Bureau.
Oversee the communications projects within the Division of Health Care Finance, working with the Communications Director and division leadership. This position will manage the PIO for the division. Assist Medicaid Division and Bureau Directors in creating talking points and preparing for interviews, presentations, and speaking events. This includes creating talking points around issues or high-level projects/initiatives and reviewing and approving slide decks.
Prepare for and manage meetings and events, including, but not limited to, coordinating schedules, developing agendas, writing meeting memos, and taking/distributing meeting notes. Manage internal meetings of special workgroups. Represent the Agency at meetings and events as deemed necessary.
Job Responsibilities may include but are not limited to the following:
Identify and communicate next steps and priorities from meetings, projects, and events with the stakeholder groups to the Deputy Chief of Staff and other agency leadership. Work with the Legislative Affairs and Communications teams to research legislation and prepare updates for stakeholders on legislative and administrative activity, initiatives, and relevant news.
Oversee and mentor direct reports, providing leadership and professional development to enhance team performance and growth.

Valid Driver's License - Incumbent is required to have and maintain a valid driver's license when operating a state vehicle, a private vehicle, or a rental vehicle for the benefit of the State.

- Three years of experience in planning, implementing, organizing and directing/monitoring activities. Previous experience with federal entities such as: (CMS, CDC, NIH, EPA, etc.) is required. T
