Job Summary: Responsible for safe transportation of Wellborn Cabinet material to customers or suppliers as directed by the dispatch supervisor. A driver can be assigned cabinet loads that require the down staking and scanning of material at each customer on the assigned route. Specific drivers can be assigned flat bed loads for pick-up or delivery. Flatbed loads require product to be strapped down and tarped. Driver loads can require drivers to be on the load for serval days and on occasion deliver products or layover on weekends. Drivers are responsible for performing pre & post inspections of their vehicle and report any issues to the maintenance manager. Drivers must always maintain a valid CDL-A license. Drivers are required to maintain proper ELD files and report issues to the Transportation Safety Manager.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Comply with Company policies & procedures and Health & Safety procedures, Department of Transportation (DOT), FMCSA requirements/regulations.
- Maintain and clean assigned Company equipment to ensure equipment is in good order.
- Keep your training record up to date with all DOT /OSHA and Company required training.
- Adhere to DOT weight limits and be able to move the tandem drive on trailers to address load issues.
- Must be able to down stack in accordance with material handing guidelines set forth by company procedures.
- Drivers are required to contact customers for delivery timing coordination. When a shortage or damage is found at customers, drivers will call in and report issues to Wellborn Customer Service.
- Must be able to operate scanners to record material being delivered. Training will be performed during orientation.
- Maintain proper records for loads and ensure proper on time delivery to customers
- Maintain a professional appearance and courteous demeanor with internal and external customers.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL-A) required.
- Valid State Star ID driver license, Passport or birth certificate.
- Driver must be able to pass DOT Physical, Drug Test and Road Test
- No chargeable accidents, DUI or DWI
- No more than 3 moving violations in the last 3 years.
- Be able to work with little to no direct supervision and an aptitude to complete assigned work.
- Drivers must me able to speak, write and understand English to enable them to communicate with Wellborn and Customer personnel.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The employee is subject to extreme environmental conditions frequently with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change. Must be able to endure the extreme heat of summer weather.
· Able to get in and out of tractor multiple times a day.
· Ability to lift 100 lbs. from the ground, down stack or slide it across trailer floor.
· Ability to climb under a truck for inspections.
· Able to drive a tractor trailer in inclement weather (snow, rain, wind) in a safe manner.
