Fast-paced primary care office with the opportunity to use medical skills (and learn new skills) to improve the overall health of our patients. We are looking for a Medical Assistant that is reliable and works well individually and in a team. We would love to have you join our family! This position's schedule is rotated weekly with other teammates as early as 6:50am or as late as 7:00pm, depending on your weekly schedule.
Provide basic patient care and treatment as ordered by the physician, nurse practitioner or physician's assistant
Obtain vital signs and enter into electronic health record system during visit
Collaborate with providers to administer injectable medications
Perform EKG, REE, PFT, AAA, ABI, Sudomotor, Diabetic Eye Exam testing in the office setting
Schedule follow up and wellness visits upon check-out
Educate and update patients on medications, medical treatments and diabetic monitoring equipment as ordered by the provider
Authorize refills of medications to requested pharmacy as authorized by the provider
Coordinate with assigned provider for continuity of care for patients.
Communicate with patients regarding lab results
Previous experience in Clinical Medical Assisting in the office setting or other medical fields is preferred. Must be able to build rapport with patients with a compassionate and caring demeanor and work independently or as a team.
Familiarity with medical terminology and excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate effectively with providers as a patient advocate are necessary.
Communication and active listening is key in this role.
