Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of pasta dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Ensure all pasta is cooked to the correct texture and flavor profile, maintaining consistency across all servings
- Assist in menu planning by suggesting new pasta dishes and seasonal specials
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pasta station, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate timing and ensure timely delivery of dishes
- Handle food with care, following proper food handling procedures to prevent cross-contamination
- Support the culinary team during busy service periods by efficiently preparing ingredients and assisting with food prep tasks
Requirements
- Proven experience in a culinary setting, preferably within fine dining or high-volume restaurants
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in food preparation techniques specific to pasta dishes
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen hygiene practices
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and food handling in a professional kitchen environment
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team
- Prior dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus but not required; enthusiasm for learning is essential
