American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular Med/Surg position in Urbana, IL, requiring an active IL RN license and a minimum of one year of nursing experience.

Hospital-based cardiovascular med/surg unit
-
Cares for post-surgical cardiovascular patients, including post-op day one CABG, thoracotomy, and vascular surgery patients

Day shift schedule: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week (36 hrs/week)

Approximately 5–6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule

Holiday coverage on a department rotation basis

May float to like units

Epic EMR — experience required

13-week contract

Active Illinois RN license in good standing (temp license accepted)

BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)

Minimum 1 year of relevant RN experience

Level 1 Trauma experience required

Epic charting experience required

Associate degree in Nursing (ASN) required; BSN preferred

Provides direct patient care to cardiovascular med/surg patients, including assessment, care planning, and ongoing evaluation

Performs hourly rounding and maintains accurate nursing documentation

Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible — local candidates are not accepted

RTO is not to exceed 7 days per 13-week contract

Travelers who have been on continuous assignment at any Carle Health location for 1 year must either convert to permanent employment or take a 6-month break before returning
