What You'll Do
We are looking for a skilled and dedicated Evening Line Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate thrives in a high-volume service environment, takes pride in consistency and cleanliness, and brings a passion for fresh, wholesome food. This role is essential to the evening success of our hot bar and café concept — keeping the line moving, the food beautiful, and the guest experience seamless through close.
Responsibilities include:
- Execute high-volume hot bar and café line service during evening hours, including maintaining food quality, replenishment, and presentation through the end of service
- Maintain consistent quality, portion control, and presentation standards across all hot bar and prepared food stations
- Follow all recipes, prep lists, and production schedules accurately and efficiently
- Adapt quickly to daily menu changes and on-the-fly direction from kitchen leadership, including creatively incorporating residual produce and perishable retail items to minimize waste and maximize freshness
- Ensure proper rotation, labeling, and storage of all ingredients and finished products (FIFO) with particular attention to end-of-night breakdown and storage procedures
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitized work environment in full compliance with HACCP standards and local health codes
- Monitor and record food temperatures, keeping accurate logs as required
- Communicate proactively with kitchen leadership about inventory needs, waste, and equipment issues
- Support a positive, collaborative kitchen culture during the evening shift
Who This Role Is For
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a high-volume kitchen, line, or café environment
- Must have reliable availability Sunday through Saturday, 2:00 PM – 10:00 PM
- ServSafe Certification required (or ability to obtain prior to start)
- Strong working knowledge of HACCP principles and food safety best practices
- Solid knife skills and proficiency in a wide range of hot line and prep techniques
- Comfortable adapting to evolving menus, rotating ingredients, and real-time direction — you see changing specs as part of the job, not a disruption
- Resourceful and solutions-oriented, with an ability to work fluidly with whatever produce and perishable inventory needs to move that day
- Ability to work efficiently and independently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
- Experience with health-focused menus, hot bar concepts, or scratch cooking a strong plus
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
