Position Summary:
The Senior IT Generalist serves as the organization's primary owner of enterprise technology platforms, integrations, and systems infrastructure — balancing hands-on execution with strategic oversight. This role combines platform administration (Google Workspace and enterprise SaaS tools), systems integration and data-flow governance, and technology infrastructure oversight, while also overseeing (and occasionally performing) front-line technical support. The Senior IT Generalist partners closely with subject-matter experts across the business, a dedicated fractional support resource for day-to-day helpdesk needs, and an external managed service provider (MSP) responsible for cybersecurity, data privacy, and compliance.
This is a full-time, salaried position based in Burlington, VT with a hybrid office schedule.
Responsibilities:
Enterprise Platform & Systems Ownership
Serve as Master Administrator for enterprise technology platforms, including full ownership of Google Workspace administration and configuration.
Coordinate with subject-matter experts (SMEs) on other enterprise systems (e.g., Rippling, HubSpot, SageX3, Slack, Monday, Tableau) to ensure platforms are configured, maintained, and used effectively.
Own and maintain integrations across enterprise platforms, with particular focus on Workato and other middleware connecting business systems.
Evaluate and recommend technology enhancements across the business to support evolving needs.
Identify, help implement, and oversee AI-driven solutions in partnership with business stakeholders.
Collaborate with the Marketing team to optimize tech stack, CRM, and data analytics tools while also monitoring performance and security of web platforms.
Data, Documentation & Change Management
Maintain enterprise systems and data-flow documentation and diagrams, keeping them current as systems evolve.
Work cross-functionally to evaluate and execute change management initiatives that impact data flows across systems and Product technology stack.
Implement and maintain Google Drive folder structure and user permissions, including ongoing access reviews.
Create and maintain the organization's Documentation Management System, applying Quality Management System (QMS) principles and best practices.
Infrastructure & Support Oversight
Oversee and maintain network infrastructure across BTV and Springfield locations, troubleshooting as needed.
Provide hands-on troubleshooting for hardware issues, and oversee front-line resolution of software and access-related helpdesk requests handled by remote, fractional support staff.
Manage user onboarding and offboarding, ensuring timely and secure provisioning/de-provisioning of accounts and equipment.
Oversee training of users on enterprise platforms, either directly or in partnership with platform SMEs.
Track and maintain equipment inventory across the business.
Security & Compliance Partnership
Serve as the internal point of contact for the organization's managed service provider (MSP) on cybersecurity, information security, and data privacy compliance matters.
Support implementation of data governance and privacy policies aligned with ISO 27001 objectives, in coordination with the MSP.
Coordinate recurring, required employee training on cybersecurity and data privacy delivered in partnership with the MSP.
