We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to develop industry-leading performance products from concept to production.
Position Overview
This is a senior-level engineering role focused on the design and development of high-performance automotive components and systems. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in automotive product development, engine systems, forced induction systems, motorsports engineering, and manufacturing processes.
You will work directly with company leadership, software engineers, fabricators, technicians, and suppliers to create innovative products that improve vehicle performance, reliability, and drivability.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop automotive performance components from concept through production
- Create detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, assemblies, and manufacturing documentation
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance stack-ups, thermal analysis, stress analysis, and design validation
- Develop components related to:
- Intake manifolds
- Cylinder heads
- Turbocharger systems
- Intercoolers and charge air systems
- Fuel systems
- Exhaust systems
- Cooling systems
- Engine accessories and brackets
- Oversee prototype fabrication and testing
- Work closely with machine shops, casting suppliers, and manufacturing partners
- Analyze test data and implement design improvements
- Conduct root-cause failure analysis and develop corrective actions
- Participate in vehicle testing, dyno testing, and product validation
- Manage engineering projects from initial concept through product launch
- Support continuous improvement of existing products
- Collaborate with calibration and software teams to optimize overall system performance
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
- 7+ years of automotive engineering experience
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks, CATIA, Siemens NX, or equivalent CAD software
- Experience designing machined, cast, forged, and fabricated components
- Strong understanding of:
- Internal combustion engines
- Turbocharging systems
- Fuel delivery systems
- Thermodynamics
- Fluid dynamics
- Heat transfer
- Manufacturing processes
- Experience taking products from concept to mass production
- Ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical systems
- Excellent communication and project management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in motorsports, performance automotive, OEM powertrain, or aftermarket performance industries
- Experience with FEA and CFD analysis
- Knowledge of engine calibration and vehicle controls
- Experience with rapid prototyping and additive manufacturing
- Familiarity with data acquisition systems and dyno testing
- Hands-on fabrication, machining, or engine-building experience
- Experience with Mercedes-AMG, BMW M, Porsche, Audi, Ferrari, Lamborghini, or other high-performance platforms
