Nutrition Service Aide (Part time)
The job of Nutrition Services Aide is done for the purpose/s of supporting food service operations at assigned locations with specific responsibilities for serving food items to students and staff; providing positive customer service; washing dishes; cleaning and maintaining kitchen and serving areas; restocking service areas and supplies; and maintaining food service facilities in a safe and sanitary condition
The Food Service Aide is a 10 month position.

Daily shifts 3 hours per day between 11:00 am and 2:00 pm
Pay
$15.36 - $19.29 per hour (based on relevant work experience)

Arranges food and beverage items in an efficient and appealing manner for the purpose of ensuring product availability and facilitating efficient meal service.

Assists with maintaining serving areas throughout meal periods for the purpose of supporting an efficient, continuous, and orderly meal service.

Cleans utensils, equipment, trays, dishes for the purpose of maintaining required sanitary conditions and complying with health and safety standards.

Demonstrates basic computer skills for the purpose of efficiently checking work emails and completing required training.

Follows established food safety and sanitation procedures for the purpose of complying with district, local, state, and federal requirements.

Interacts with students and staff consistently for the purpose of creating a positive customer service experience and supporting meal service operations.

Maintains equipment, storage, food preparation, and serving areas in a sanitary condition for the purpose of complying with current health and safety standards.

Maintains stocked and organized service and customer areas for the purpose of supporting efficient operations and positive interactions with students and staff.

Operates assigned cleaning and kitchen equipment safely for the purpose of maintaining a safe work environment.

Participates in unit meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. for the purpose of gathering information required to perform job functions.

Replenishes meal service lines for the purpose of ensuring product availability and supporting efficient meal service throughout serving periods.

Reports equipment malfunctions to the Nutrition Services Manager for the purpose of ensuring timely repair or replacement and minimizing disruptions to food service operations.

Restocks à la carte areas and service stations for the purpose of ensuring product availability and an organized, appealing presentation of food and beverage items.

Serves food items to students and staff for the purpose of providing nutritious meal options and supporting efficient food service operations.

Stocks food, condiments, and supplies for the purpose of maintaining adequate quantities and security of items.

Supports meal service transitions and closing procedures for the purpose of preparing service areas for subsequent operations.

Washes, rinses, sanitizes, and stores dishes, pans, trays, and kitchen equipment for the purpose of supporting efficient kitchen operations.

Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
Job Requirements: Minimum Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE is required to perform basic math; read and follow instructions; and understand multi-step written and oral instructions. Specific knowledge based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: safety practices and procedures; quality food preparation and handling; and sanitation practices.
SKILLS are required to perform multiple tasks using existing skills. Specific skill based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: demonstrating basic computer skills; adhering to safety practices; and operating equipment found in a commercial kitchen.
ABILITY is required to schedule activities; collate data; and use job-related equipment. Flexibility is required to work with data utilizing specific, defined processes; and operate equipment using standardized methods. Ability is also required to work with a diversity of individuals; work with specific, job-related data; and utilize job-related equipment. Problem solving with data requires following prescribed guidelines; and problem solving with equipment is limited to moderate. Specific ability based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: working as part of a team; and working with interruptions.
Responsibilities include: working under direct supervision using standardized procedures; providing information and/or advising others; operating within a defined budget. There is some opportunity to affect the organization’s services.
The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: significant lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some climbing and balancing, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling, and significant fine finger dexterity. Generally the job requires 0% sitting, 50% walking, and 50% standing. The job is performed under temperature extremes in a generally hazard free environment and in a clean atmosphere.
Experience: Job related experience is desired.
Education: Less than high school.
