We’re a precision metal fabrication and machining company specializing in laser cutting, machining, and rapid prototyping, headquartered in Emmaus, PA, with a subsidiary, DMI-Texas, LLC, in Brownsville, TX. Now in our seventh year, our team of 45+ across both locations is a premier vendor of tooling and components for advanced aerospace programs. If you’re driven by hands-on work that contributes to the future of flight and exploration, you’ll fit right in.
About the Role
We’re looking for skilled Manufacturing Technicians to join our production team. This is a hands-on, fast-paced role working directly with precision laser-cut components for aerospace and industrial customers. If you know your way around a sheet metal or machining job shop, can read a print, and take pride in quality workmanship.
Shift Availability
We’re actively hiring for all three shifts, Monday through Friday:
- 1st Shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
- 2nd Shift: 2:30 PM – 11:00 PM
- 3rd Shift: 10:30 PM – 7:00 AM
Please indicate your shift preference when applying. All three shifts are full-time, on-site positions.
What We’re Looking For
Required
- Sheet metal fabrication and/or machining experience (job shop background strongly preferred).
- Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency with precision measuring tools (calipers, pin gauges, height stands).
- Experience with power tools including grinders and cutters.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Able to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly; comfortable bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling throughout a full shift.
- Comfortable in a loud, fast-paced, high-volume production environment with appropriate PPE.
- Reliable, adaptable, and safety-conscious.
- Must be available to work assigned shift (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) Monday through Friday on a consistent basis.
Preferred
- Forklift certification or willingness to certify (we’ll train the right person).
- Experience with First Article Inspection (FAI) documentation.
- Background in aerospace or industrial fabrication.
- Familiarity with automated deburring or finishing equipment.
What You’ll Do
- Operate automated deburring equipment. Run our Loewer deburring machine — nearly all laser-cut parts flow through this system, making it a core responsibility.
- Perform light machining. Handle tapping, countersinking, and related manual machining tasks on sheet metal components.
- Support laser operations. Assist with de-nesting and staging sheet metal parts to keep the laser running efficiently.
- Inspect and verify part quality. Conduct dimensional inspection using calipers, pin gauges, and height stands. Complete FAI forms per quality standards.
- Perform manual deburring. Deburr sheet metal components by hand when automated finishing isn’t suitable.
- Handle material movement and shipping. Operate a forklift to stage and move raw material. Package, palletize, and ship finished parts.
- Keep a safe, organized workspace. Maintain a clean work area, follow all safety protocols, and stay alert in an active shop environment.
What Success Looks Like
In your first 90 days
You’ve learned our production workflows, you’re running the Loewer independently with consistent quality, and you’re completing FAI forms without hand-holding. You know the rhythm of your shift and you’re keeping up with the pace.
By six months
You’re the person the team relies on to keep your shift moving. You’re catching quality issues before they leave your station, jumping between machining, de-nesting, and inspection without missing a beat, and reprioritizing on the fly when rush jobs drop.
By the end of your first year
You’re a cornerstone of your shift crew. Quality is tight, production flows smoothly through your station, and you’ve earned a reputation for precision and reliability. In short, you’ve made production on your shift something we don’t have to worry about.
