Position Summary
The Human Resources Coordinator provides front-line HR support in a manufacturing environment with a primary focus on recruiting, onboarding, employee support, and HR administration. This is a highly interactive role that partners closely with employees, applicants, supervisors, and leadership to support daily HR operations and help create an outstanding employee experience. Key Responsibilities
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Coordinate full-cycle recruiting for hourly production and administrative positions
- Identify opportunities to improve recruiting and onboarding processes
- Identify and develop new recruiting channels and community partnerships to attract qualified candidates
- Stay current on recruiting trends, labor market conditions, and best practices to improve hiring effectiveness
- Assist in developing recruiting campaigns, hiring event materials, social media content, and other employment branding initiatives
- Create and maintain recruiting materials including flyers, digital ads, signage, and job fair displays
- Support workforce planning efforts by proactively building candidate pipelines for high-volume and hard-to-fill positions
- Partner with local schools, workforce agencies, and community organizations to support recruiting outreach efforts
- Monitor recruiting metrics and provide recommendations to improve applicant flow, candidate experience, and hiring speed
- Represent the company at job fairs, hiring events, and community recruiting initiatives
- Help promote Sheridan as an employer of choice through positive candidate engagement, consistent employer branding, and networking.
- Post jobs, review applicants, conduct phone screens, and schedule interviews
- Manage candidate communication throughout the hiring process
- Coordinate background checks, drug screens, and I-9 verification
- Prepare new hire paperwork and onboarding documentation
- Schedule and facilitate new hire orientation and first-day activities
Employee Support & HR Administration
- Maintain employee personnel files and HR records
- Assist employees with HR-related questions including policies, benefits, and timekeeping
- Maintain accurate HRIS data and support audits/reporting
- Assist with payroll and timecard administrative tasks
Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure employment documentation is complete and compliant
- Support workers' compensation and leave administration
- Assist with compliance related to employment laws and company policies
- Coordinate required training and track completion records
Employee Engagement & Plant Support
- Support employee communication and engagement initiatives
- Maintain a visible HR presence on the production floor
- Promote a respectful, inclusive, and safety-focused workplace
- Assist with safety committee initiatives as needed
Additional HR Support
- Assist the HR Manager with projects, audits, and HR initiatives
- Complete administrative tasks accurately and on time
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required
- High school diploma or GED
- 3+ years of recruiting and/or HR support experience
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organization and time management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR systems
Preferred
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, or related field
- Manufacturing, warehouse, or industrial recruiting experience
- Experience with applicant tracking systems and HRIS platforms
- Exposure to benefits administration or leave management
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification (or interest in pursuing certification)
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and computer work
- Frequent movement between office and production areas
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 15 pounds
- Comfortable interacting in a manufacturing environment
Schedule & Travel
- Schedule flexibility may be needed to support production shifts and onboarding activities
