About the Role
Local manufacturing company looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer / SolidWorks CAD Designer to support precision sheet metal and tubular fabrication projects. This position works closely with customers and the production team to create accurate, manufacturing designs and production documentation.
- Precision sheet metal fabricating experience required
Key Responsibilities
- Create designs using SolidWorks based on client concepts and drawings
- Collaborate with clients in a professional, customer-service-focused manner
- Apply value engineering to improve design efficiency and manufacturability
- Develop and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and models for sheet metal and tubular fabrication
- Program and maintain current revisions of all client part files
- Interpret drawings to create flat-pattern layouts for CNC machinery
- Select appropriate machines and tooling to optimize manufacturing efficiency
- Prepare detailed, standardized work instructions and setup sheets for production
- Coordinate with plant mechanics and production staff to support project execution
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Precision sheet metal fabricating experience required
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Dependable, responsible, and able to complete tasks independently
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Knowledge of materials, production processes, and equipment used in precision sheet metal and tubular fabrication (turret punch presses, laser cutting, etc.)
- Ability to break down materials and processes for accurate project pricing
- Engineering background or equivalent experience with strong mechanical aptitude

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
