We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This role requires strong customer service skills and ability to handle all types of animals in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians with exams, procedures, and surgeries as needed
- Clean and prepare examination rooms and equipment for use
- Assist with laboratory tests and procedures, including taking blood samples and performing routine tests
- Provide animal restraint, ensuring the safety and well-being of both the patient and the veterinarian
- Administer medications and vaccinations, under the supervision of a veterinarian
- Maintain a clean and organized clinic environment
- Communicate with pet owners about their pets' health, treatment, and any necessary follow-up care
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience working with animals, preferably in a veterinary setting
- Knowledge of veterinary critical care and a willingness to learn and adapt to new procedures
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to lift 50lb and restrain animals as needed
- Familiarity with animal husbandry and pet care practices
- Certification as a veterinary technician is preferred but not necessary
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- A passion for providing exceptional care to animals and their owners
