Are you a skilled maintenance professional who wants your daily work to genuinely matter?
At Methodist Homes, we don’t just manage buildings; we provide safe, vibrant, and dignified homes for seniors. As a non-profit multifamily housing provider, our mission is completely rooted in care, respect, and operational excellence.
We are seeking a reliable, mission-driven Maintenance Technician who takes true ownership of their work. If you are a self-starter who excels independently, enjoys variety, and takes pride in supporting operations that directly impact older adults, this is the right place to build a stable, long-term career.
Key Responsibilities & Operational Duties
· Fast-Paced Unit Turns: Efficiently prep, repair, and refresh vacant apartments to a high standard, ensuring a welcoming and pristine home for arriving residents.
· General Maintenance & Repairs: Perform routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance across the property, including basic plumbing, electrical fixes, carpentry, drywall patching, and appliance troubleshooting.
· HVAC Troubleshooting: Conduct basic inspection and troubleshooting of heating and cooling systems to ensure resident comfort throughout the year.
· Exceptional Customer Service: Respond to resident work orders timely, with kindness, patience, and absolute professionalism, recognizing that you are working inside our seniors' homes.
· Operational Support & Safety: Maintain clear logs, manage inventory, proactively identify safety hazards, and collaborate closely with the Property Manager to achieve regulatory compliance and operational goals.
· On-Call Rotation: Participate in a shared, rotating on-call schedule to handle occasional after-hours maintenance emergencies.
What You Bring to the Team
· The "Self-Starter" Mindset: An exceptional work ethic with the verified ability to diagnose problems, prioritize a daily task list, and manage your time effectively without constant supervision.
· Proven Experience: Demonstrated background in multifamily property maintenance, facility management, or residential trades (unit turns, painting, basic plumbing, and carpentry).
· Reliability & Punctuality: Dependable, consistent, and on time. Our senior residents and your fellow operations team members rely on you showing up ready to make a difference.
· HVAC Experience (Desirable, Not Required): Hands-on experience troubleshooting HVAC systems or holding an EPA certification is highly valued and will be fully utilized. However, we encourage all qualified technicians with a strong general mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn to apply.
· Mission Alignment: A genuine heart for service, an appreciation for older adults, and a commitment to helping our non-profit thrive.
· Valid Driver’s License: Must possess a valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
What We Offer You (Benefits & Career Growth)
· Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience.
· Comprehensive health benefits package: Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance plans.
· Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) package and paid holidays.
· Retirement savings program options.
· A highly stable, supportive, and respectful non-profit working environment where you can build a meaningful, long-term career.
