Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Accounting & Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience managing payroll processes, maintaining accurate financial records, and handling various tax and compliance responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Process payroll accurately and on time using payroll software
- Prepare and file payroll tax reports, including IRS and EDD returns
- Generate and distribute 1099 forms
- Manage workers’ compensation audits and related documentation
- Set up and administer CalSavers retirement accounts
- Perform bank reconciliations and maintain accurate accounting records
- Assist with bookkeeping and general accounting functions using QuickBooks
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations
- Maintain organized employee and financial records
Qualifications
- Experience in payroll processing and accounting/bookkeeping
- Proficiency with payroll software and QuickBooks
- Knowledge of IRS and California EDD payroll tax filings
- Familiarity with 1099 preparation and reporting requirements
- Understanding of CalSavers setup and administration
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to manage confidential information professionally
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work onsite during regular business hours
Preferred
- Minimum 2+ years of related accounting/payroll experience
- Experience working in a small business or multi-client environment
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
