JOB SUMMARY:
A Part-Time Ultrasound Technician is responsible for performing diagnostic imaging studies. Candidates should demonstrate knowledge of all diagnostic ultrasound equipment. Duties will include preparing patients for exams, transferring patient to ultrasound table and positioning patient properly. Operating ultrasound equipment to produce quality images for diagnostic purposes and recording and interpreting findings of the studies in a preliminary report using ultrasound equipment to help visualize internal anatomy functions. Their duties include calibrating and manipulating ultrasound equipment to conduct appointments, taking pictures or videos of potential abnormalities and discreetly notifying medical personnel if they identify something concerning.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Knowledge of ultrasound principles and practices, and strong clinical and analytical skills.
- Think strategically, multitask, prioritize, and ability to move in a fast-paced office.
- Ability to work closely with medical specialties to provide a full range of diagnostic imaging.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Work under minimal supervision and cooperate with other team members.
- Ensure patient and business confidentiality at all times.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Certified by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS).
· Experience in sonography and medical imaging.
· Must complete annual education requirements
· Strong understanding of medical terminology and anatomy.
