Sunway Carriers is looking for an experienced Accounting Specialist with a strong background in the trucking industry.
This position is focused on Accounts Payable, Driver Settlements, and Owner-Operator Payouts. We are seeking someone who understands trucking accounting processes and can work accurately in a fast-paced office environment.
Location: 1200 Knell Road, Montgomery, IL 60538
Work Schedule: Full-time, on-site only
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly Driver Settlements and Owner-Operator Payouts
- Review rate confirmations, trip documents, deductions, and reimbursements
- Manage Accounts Payable and vendor payments
- Process invoices and maintain accurate payment records
- Calculate and apply fuel advances, escrow deductions, maintenance charges, insurance deductions, and other driver-related expenses
- Reconcile fuel card transactions, factoring statements, bank activity, and internal accounting records
- Review settlement discrepancies and resolve payment issues
- Work with QuickBooks, Excel, TMS systems, and other trucking accounting platforms
- Maintain organized financial documentation and accurate reports
- Communicate with Dispatch, Safety, Fleet, Payroll, and Management
- Assist with month-end reconciliation and other accounting duties as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of accounting experience specifically in the trucking industry
- Experience with Driver Settlements and Owner-Operator Payouts
- Experience with Accounts Payable and invoice processing
- Working knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Understanding of fuel cards, factoring, deductions, escrow, and trucking expenses
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- English proficiency
- Ability to work full-time from our Montgomery office
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Open Deck operations
- Experience with Step Deck or RGN carriers
- Familiarity with TMS systems
- Experience with AP/AR, bank reconciliation, payroll, and financial reporting
- Russian language skills are a plus
