A growing fabrication company specializing in environments and specialty builds for nationally recognized clients is seeking an experienced Project Manager.
The ideal candidate understands not just how to manage the paperwork of a project — but how they are actually built.
Role Overview
This position serves as the primary point of contact for both clients and internal teams, responsible for delivering projects on schedule, within budget, and to a high standard of craftsmanship.
Success in this role requires a strong foundation in fabrication or construction, combined with the ability to lead teams, manage complexity, and make practical decisions in a fast-paced shop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review drawings, specifications, and scope to fully understand project requirements
- Coordinate with design and engineering teams to develop practical fabrication approaches
- Plan build strategy, materials, and sequencing for efficient execution
- Manage project schedules from kickoff through fabrication and installation
- Track budgets, labor, and material costs to maintain profitability
- Lead and coordinate shop teams (millwork, fabricators, painters, installers)
- Serve as the primary client contact for communication and updates
- Manage change orders and evolving project requirements
- Oversee logistics including crating, shipping, and installation coordination
- Maintain high standards for quality, fit, and finish
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on background in fabrication or construction (strongly preferred)
- Ability to read drawings and understand real-world build methods
- Proven experience managing projects, teams, schedules, and budgets
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
- Comfortable working closely with skilled trades and holding teams accountable
- Computer proficiency (Excel, email, file systems)
- Exhibits, signage, or specialty construction
- Experience working with fabrication drawings and CAD
- Experience coordinating multiple trades and subcontractors
Work Environment
- Fast-paced fabrication shop and field environment
- Overtime and occasional travel required based on project needs
