Experienced Chairside Dental Assistant
A high-responsibility role built around iTero, clear aligners, PrimeScan, and complete documentation.
Pay: $30-$40/hour DOE | Schedule: Four-day workweek; no evenings | Required: iTero scans, attachment placement, and clinical notes
This is not a basic chairside position. Calabasas Dental Spa is a boutique, one-doctor practice using iTero for Invisalign and clear-aligner treatment, PrimeScan for same-day crowns, and a detailed digital clinical workflow. We need an experienced assistant who can own the process around each case - from the scan and patient conversation to treatment-plan entry, clinical notes, supplies, and equipment - while Dr. Baker diagnoses and directs care.
NON-NEGOTIABLE CLINICAL SKILLS
- Complete accurate iTero scans, including full arches, bite capture, rescanning, and troubleshooting incomplete scan data.
- Place Invisalign and clear-aligner attachments accurately under the doctor's direction and support aligner delivery and progress appointments.
- Walk patients through what is visible on the iTero scan in clear, non-diagnostic language, reinforce the doctor's findings, and explain the next step with confidence.
- Create complete, accurate clinical notes in real time and finish documentation before the patient leaves whenever possible.
- Enter treatment-plan procedures and supporting details as Dr. Baker diagnoses and dictates; Dentrix Ascend experience is a strong plus.
WHAT YOU WILL OWN
- Prepare for and assist with PrimeScan/CEREC same-day crowns, restorative procedures, and clear-aligner visits.
- Support case acceptance by completing scans promptly, explaining images clearly, and reinforcing treatment sequence and timing.
- Take quality digital radiographs, Panoramic and CBCT scans.
- Keep treatment rooms, sterilization areas, counters, cabinets, and shared clinical spaces clean, organized, stocked, and ready.
- Monitor inventory, check expiration dates, prepare supply orders, and prevent last-minute shortages.
- Maintain dental equipment, complete routine care and cleaning, monitor waterlines, keep service records, and report problems promptly.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Substantial chairside dental-assisting experience; RDA preferred.
- Hands-on iTero scanning and orthodontic attachment experience are required.
- PrimeScan/CEREC experience is strongly preferred; Dentrix Ascend knowledge is a plus.
- Current California credentials for assigned duties, including dental radiography, plus current CPR/BLS as applicable.
- Proactive, organized, articulate, and able to anticipate what the dentist and patient will need next.
