OVERVIEW
Affogato House is a design-forward coffee and ice cream concept opening in New Rochelle, NY. We’re building a refined yet approachable space — a daily ritual for some, a slow indulgence for others. Our bar program leads with specialty espresso and craft affogatos, and everything we do is rooted in intention: the way a drink is made, the way a guest is greeted, the way a space feels.
THE ROLE
As Prep Cook, you’re the engine behind everything that reaches the bar and the counter — the sauces, syrups, garnishes, and pastry components that define the Affogato House experience. You work with precision and consistency, setting the kitchen up to run clean and on time, every day.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
– Complete daily mise en place for pastries and light savory items
– Prepare sauces, toppings, syrups, and garnishes to recipe and standard
– Maintain kitchen cleanliness and uphold sanitation standards throughout the shift
– Receive deliveries and organize back-of-house inventory
– Support the café during peak periods when needed
WHO YOU ARE
– Prior prep or line cook experience preferred, ideally in a café, bakery, or restaurant kitchen
– Organized and detail-oriented — you follow recipes and standards exactly
– Comfortable working efficiently in a small, fast-moving kitchen
– Reliable and consistent, with strong time-management instincts
– A team player who jumps in wherever the café needs support
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE
Hourly. Full-time and part-time positions available. Early morning availability required; some weekend shifts needed. Rate discussed during interview and commensurate with experience.
Pay: $17.00 - $19.50 per hour
