Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Women's Health Nurse Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary healthcare team. In this vital role, you will provide comprehensive women’s health services, including preventive care, reproductive health management, and acute and chronic condition treatment. Duties
- Conduct thorough patient assessments, including medical histories, physical examinations, and vital signs to determine health status and needs.
- Manage routine gynecological care such as Pap smears, breast exams, contraception counseling, and family planning services.
- Provide specialized treatments including botulinum toxin injections for aesthetic or therapeutic purposes and dermal fillers to enhance patient confidence.
- Perform diagnostic evaluations utilizing sonography (ultrasound) and laboratory testing, including specimen collection and processing.
- Prescribe medications in accordance with state regulations, including antibiotics, medications while adhering to DEA regulations.
- Collaborate closely with physicians, specialists in gastroenterology, infectious disease care, behavioral health, and other healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive treatment plans.
- Utilize electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks for accurate documentation of patient encounters and medical records management.
- Provide patient education on wellness strategies, chronic disease management like diabetes or hypertension, and lifestyle modifications to promote optimal health outcomes.
Experience
- Proven experience working as a Nurse Practitioner in women’s health or a related specialty such as gynecology or primary care.
- Demonstrated proficiency in medical office procedures including suturing, IV infusion, catheterization, sterile processing techniques, and basic life support certification.
- Hands-on experience with advanced procedures like spinal taps or airway management is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems such as Cerner or Athenahealth for documentation and clinical workflow efficiency.
- Background working within hospital medicine units or emergency room settings provides valuable insight into acute care scenarios.
- Experience delivering telehealth services enhances the ability to connect with diverse patient populations remotely.
- Knowledge of CPT coding (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD coding (International Classification of Diseases), and utilization review processes ensures compliance with billing standards.
- Prior involvement in clinical research or memory/dementia care programs adds depth to your expertise in specialized areas of women’s health.
