Overview
We are seeking a dependable, skilled, and experienced Turn Technician to join our team full-time. The ideal candidate will have strong troubleshooting abilities and hands-on experience with plumbing systems, as well as general building and property maintenance. This position is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and improving facilities to ensure safe, efficient, and attractive operations. Turn technicians are commonly responsible for repairs, preventative maintenance, and facility upkeep, including plumbing systems and other building components. The position is based in Chesapeake, VA but does does require travel to locations in Norfolk and Virginia Beach.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair plumbing issues, including faucets, toilets, drains, water
- lines, and fixtures
- Electrical experience required, including:○ Installing and replacing light fixtures○ Replacing switches and outlets, GFCIs, basic electrical troubleshooting (no major rewiring or panel work)
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on buildings and equipment
- Complete work orders in a timely and professional manner
- Troubleshoot and repair minor HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical issues
- Conduct property inspections to identify maintenance needs
- Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance records
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests as needed
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable codes and
- company standards
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of maintenance experience preferred
- Proven plumbing experience required
- Knowledge of electrical, HVAC, appliance repair, and general building maintenance is a plus
- Ability to diagnose problems and complete repairs independently
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical work including bending,
- climbing, and standing for extended periods
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Must be able to pass a background check
