About the role and team
Leading at Uber means navigating ambiguity, staying calm under pressure, and owning outcomes without a perfect script. As a Senior Business Systems Analyst, you will solve complex, real-world data challenges. This is not a "business as usual" reporting role; you will be at the center of our digital transformation, architecting scalable data governance and AI-driven solutions that power movement and commerce across the platform.
The work is fast-moving and high-stakes. You'll be tasked with breaking down messy, unstructured problems into focused plans of execution-balancing the need for rapid insights with the necessity of airtight governance and technical debt reduction. If you are a systems thinker who cares about building infrastructure that actually works, and you're energized by the challenge of bridging the gap between business strategy and engineering reality, this is where you'll grow.
What you'll do
- Lead the design and implementation of data governance frameworks and spend analytics programs, from the initial business case to the rollout of global operating models.
- Scope and prioritize complex data requirements across matrixed stakeholders, including IT engineering, finance, and regional operations teams.
- Build and maintain intelligent dashboards and real-time system alerts using Tableau or Power BI to deliver decision-ready insights to executive leadership.
- Extract and analyze large-scale datasets from ERP and CRM systems (Oracle, Salesforce), identifying hidden patterns, risks, and multi-million dollar savings opportunities.
- Champion technical excellence by establishing data quality standards, deduplication processes, and monitoring data traceability across the information lifecycle.
- Experiment with emerging technologies, including prompt engineering and LLM model testing, to deploy AI agents that optimize inefficient sourcing or commercial workflows.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum 4 years of experience in data analytics, consulting, sales operations, or supply chain analytics.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Engineering, Data Analytics, Finance, or Computer Science.
- Minimum 2 years of direct experience in the strategy and execution of data governance, data quality, or AI/ML-driven projects.
- Strong proficiency in SQL and hands-on experience with data visualization tools (Tableau or Power BI).
- Experience with enterprise-level systems, specifically Salesforce (CPQ, Account Hierarchies) or Oracle/ERP environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python for data science, automation, or API integration.
- Hands-on experience with prompt engineering and deploying LLM-based solutions (e.g., GPT, Gemini).
- Deep understanding of Master Data Management (MDM), data lineage, and metadata management.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks, such as SOX or HIPAA, and building audit-ready data processes.
- Proven ability to translate complex, ambiguous business problems into structured, data-backed solutions for non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in high-growth tech environments where priorities and tech stacks evolve rapidly.
