American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with 5+ years of CST experience and dedicated cardiac and vascular expertise for a heart hospital CVOR position.

Work in a heart hospital's CVOR unit performing cardiovascular and thoracic procedures
-
13-week assignment with a schedule of two 8-hour shifts and two 12-hour shifts totaling 40 hours per week
-
Shifts occur anytime between 6:30 a.m. and 11:00 p.m. based on staffing needs
-
Weekend rotation distributed equitably among staff
-
Call duties included as part of the contract, with call hours distributed equitably and varying by schedule
-
Uses Epic EMR
-
Performs CVOR procedures including CABG, EVAR, TEVAR, and valve replacement
-
Level I Trauma facility setting
-
Minimum of 5 years of overall CST experience required
-
At least 2 years of dedicated cardiac and vascular experience required
-
Minimum of 1 year of CVOR experience required
-
Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Level I Trauma facility required
-
Experience with cardiovascular/thoracic instrument reprocessing required
-
BLS certification required
-
Scrub experience required
-
Skilled in general OR, thoracic, and vascular procedures
-
Proficient in aseptic technique and equipment documentation
-
Experience with crash cart management, scrubbing, and circulating
-
License required if applicable

Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program

First-time travelers will be considered for this position

Local candidates are accepted at the same pay rate

Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or formal leadership role such as a supervisor; a charge RN is acceptable for the second reference; coworker references are not accepted

Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more

Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at this facility

RTO must be requested and built into the contract at time of submission, limited to 7 days or less

Candidates must be aware of the urgency of the Ohio fingerprinting process and complete fingerprints immediately upon signing the contract
-
Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance will be required to drive to an Ohio fingerprinting location as soon as possible after booking

Candidates at extreme distances from Ohio will be mailed a fingerprinting packet to complete urgently upon receipt
