Garage Tec is a growing home-service company specializing in automatic gate installation, repair, and maintenance. With locations across the Dallas–Fort Worth, Austin, and San Antonio metros, we serve residential and commercial customers who count on us for fast, reliable, professional service. We're hiring motivated gate technicians who take pride in quality work and great customer service.
What You'll Do
- Install, repair, and service automatic gates — swing, slide, cantilever, and overhead
- Install and troubleshoot gate operators/openers and motor controls
- Diagnose and repair access control systems, keypads, telephone entry, safety loops, and photo-eye sensors
- Run and terminate low-voltage and line-voltage wiring for gate systems
- Repair and adjust gate hardware — hinges, rollers, tracks, chains, and posts
- Perform preventative maintenance and safety inspections to UL 325 standards
- Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and installation specs
- Communicate clearly with customers, explain the work needed, and provide accurate estimates
- Complete service tickets, photos, and documentation through our mobile dispatch system
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked service vehicle
What We're Looking For
- Mechanical aptitude and hands-on troubleshooting skills
- Comfort working with electrical wiring, low-voltage systems, and motors
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in varying weather
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a customer-first attitude
- Smartphone comfort for scheduling and job documentation
Preferred (Not Required)
- Welding experience (a strong plus) — for custom gate fabrication, post setting, repairs, and on-site modifications
- Prior experience with automatic gates or access control systems
- Familiarity with gate operator brands (LiftMaster, DoorKing, FAAC, Viking, HySecurity, etc.)
- Electrical or low-voltage background
