Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and adaptable Floater Teacher part time from 1 pm till 6 pm to join our vibrant early childhood education team. Responsibilities
- Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum development tailored to early childhood education standards, including literacy, math, physical education, and Montessori methods.
- Support classroom management by engaging children in age-appropriate activities and behavior management strategies to promote positive social interactions.
- Provide childcare and toddler care, ensuring safety, comfort, and emotional support for young children during daily routines and activities.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop lesson plans that incorporate child development instruction and standardized testing preparation when appropriate.
- Help facilitate early intervention strategies for children with special needs or behavioral challenges, aligning with mandated reporting laws and child welfare practices.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning while adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with parents, staff, and team members about children's progress, classroom activities, and any concerns related to child welfare or development.
Experience
- Prior classroom experience working with young children in preschool or daycare settings is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of childhood development principles, including early intervention techniques and behavior management strategies.
- Experience with curriculum development, lesson planning, and implementing educational activities across various subjects such as literacy education, math, and physical education.
- Familiarity with teaching physical education and incorporating Montessori or other specialized educational approaches is a plus.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, families, and children while adhering to mandated reporting laws.
- Previous experience in private schools or daycare environments will be considered an asset.
- Certification or training in early childhood education or related fields is advantageous but not mandatory; ongoing professional development is encouraged.
