Performs a variety of legal work in assisting with preparation for court appearances, including performing legal research, preparing briefs and motions, conferring with others.
Reviews, redacts, and Bates-labels all discovery documents whether for formal or informal discovery.
Sends email to legal liaisons requesting copies of file for either formal or informal discovery.
Takes CPS files to Print Mail Department for copying and scanning onto flash drives.
Prepares receipts for copies of files provided to opposing counsel and ad litems.
Downloads copies of file to CD-Rs for opposing counsel and ad litems and department CD file.
Prepares Orders to Participate and Aid to Investigations.
Assists in preparation of any orders and/or pleadings required by supervising attorneys.
Drafts formal discovery requests and responses as necessary.
Prepares removal pleadings, rule 11 agreements, and notices of intent.
Utilizes computerized data entry equipment to prepare legal documents, correspondence, and reports.
Participates in investigations of various parties and documentation associated with civil cases to be tried by the county.
Investigates cases and assists various county employees in litigation and non-litigation related legal work.
Performs highly responsible secretarial-administrative work serving as a program assistant in the Criminal District Attorney's office.
Assists in budget preparation and administration, preparing and maintaining a variety of records and reports to relieve professional-level staff of day-to-day administrative details.
Regular and punctual attendance is required.
Performs other related duties as required.
