Moltz Constructors is a heavy civil contractor specializing in dams, reservoirs, pump stations, pipelines, and water/wastewater treatment facilities throughout Colorado and the Mountain West. We are seeking an Estimator to join our growing preconstruction team and help deliver complex infrastructure projects that serve communities for generations.
This position is ideal for a mid-level estimator looking to take the next step in their career and develop into a Senior Estimator role. The successful candidate will work directly with company leadership, Project Managers, Project Engineers, and field operations personnel on negotiated, CM/GC, design-build, and hard-bid projects.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare quantity takeoffs and cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects
- Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations
- Develop pricing for self-performed work including labor, equipment, and materials
- Analyze plans, specifications, geotechnical reports, and contract documents
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and design review workshops
- Assist with risk assessments, value engineering, and constructability reviews
- Support proposal preparation and interview presentations
- Collaborate with operations staff to develop accurate schedules, means and methods, and production assumptions
- Participate in project handoffs to operations teams following award
What We're Looking For:
- 2-5 years of estimating, project engineering, project management, or construction experience
- Experience in heavy civil, water/wastewater, utility, transportation, earthwork, concrete, or related construction markets
- Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard estimating software (HeavyBid, B2W, etc)
- Self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred, but equivalent experience will be considered

Pay: $75,000.00 - $105,000.00 per year
